Wat are the disadvantages of SELECT ... WITH (NOLOCK)?

    You might be better off starting a new thread that kind of just asks for a solution to your performance/locking problem as this thread seems to be more focused on agreeing/disagreeing on your proposed solution.

    Ron,

    I knew there wouldn't be an easy solution. I just wanted to know how other developers/DBA's think about the Quick and Dirty solution WITH (NOLOCK).

    If anything, this thread confirms that I know not enough of Locking. Yet comprehension dawns   (I hope.... )
