xp_sendmail stopped working

    We just rebuilt our exchange server and when we use the following command:

    xp_sendmail we receive the following errror: Server:

    Msg 18025, Level 16, State 1, Line 0

    xp_sendmail: failed with mail error 0x80004005

    Notifications of jobs status is working.

     

    Any Ideas?

    Did you log on locally using the service account of the sql server?  Are you able to send out email via outlook?  Sometimes all it takes is to reboot sql or the whole server so that the link to the new exchange server works.  sql-mail is very sensitive to change.
