Nice !!! , I can easily see the data volumes increase to that level and beyond over the next few years. I think the majority of the data is going to generated and held privately and not available on the internet , mainly military , telecom , healthcare .
The current internet infrastructure might not be ready to handle the flow of data in this scale yet. I wonder what kind of contribution clouds would have o this number.
Large clouds with less data stored everywhere, or massive clouds that are so cheap that u can upload you life on the internet and live as a machine :D.

Yes, it does. Nothing is stored on paper anymore. Everything is on a database somewhere, and as long as that is the case a good DBA will never want for a job, and the pay isn't bad either. On CNN Money and Payscale.com a DBA was rated #7 in the TOP 100 Best jobs in America for both growth (10 year forecast) and pay rate in 2010. Now that's not too bad, and its even ranked above Sales Director. Check out the list for yourself at:

I Currently have 9 Terabytes of storage in my house and expect it to grow before the end of the year. I know I am probably the exception but many users are going to use the Cloud for storage and just keep adding and adding. Storage needs my be like Moore's Law and keep doubling every 18 months or so, as people decide not to ever delete anything just in case.
