Wouldn't connecting via Management Studio give you more functionality though ?
What if you were connecting to a SQL 2000 server - with a standard licence ?

I know exactly why you suggested that and I`ve already tried it to try and counteract the fullstop. Doesn`t make a difference though.

What I don`t get is that I am not using OrtusSearch in the ? criteria in sp_MSforeachdb. Its just looping through and hitting the error. Very odd.

Thats certainly my thinking. With open access they can do serious damage by mistake which might not just be limited to their application but could impact accross the board.
