Definitely some network item. The VPNs can be implemented differently and they don't always pass all ports through the tunnel. Are you connecting by IP or name? I think it looks pretty good now. I like the color change on field focus. One question though... On the third page of this thread, I have to scroll horizontally a significant amount, not so on the other pages. Any way to control this? I am currently using 1024/768. Thanks! Dan B

Testing in SQL2000, it does not even allow a variable when used with the IDENTITY function. You could do something like this, however. exec ('select field1, IDENTITY(int,' + @val1 + ',1) AS [ID] into #temp_list from table2 select * from #temp_list order by [ID]')
