You can use user defined role and add members to the role. Whatever permission the role is given will be inherited by members. But every time new objects are added, you need to adjust permission on the Role. In other word permission has to be set explicitly on newly created objects @ role level. MW

Yes, you can delete NT Authentication logins that have been deleted from the domain, because even if they were recreated in the domain, they would have different spid and so would not be recognized by SQL server anyway.

I have the same probelm on 3 SQL 2000 servers each running 3 instances of SQL. I have a call with Micrososft for this one. 3 weeks on we still havnt resolved the problem. Last call was to rebuild all servers.....
