If the option has been used, you could query Active Directory. If not, you'd have to a get a list of all servers (DMO has a method for this I think) and then query each one.

Both are same. If you check with Show Execution Plan in QA it dont show any diffrence between two Queries. I guess you generated the Query from the Wizard. --Jeswanth

Unfortunately, I don't think that is possible.The problem is the the SQL Server is requesting data from Oracle FROM SQL and SQL has no way of knowing or handling the Oracle indexes.OPENQUERY on the other hand says to Oracle run this and return the data I want... Good Luck

Its most likely a permissions issue. The account that SQL is running under doesn't have rights to your mapped drive. If at all possible, backup your databases to a local drive and then move them to your network share.Steve
