The view I pull off of v_MTSTM_ProfitLoss actually converts the table datatype of FLOAT to a SMALLMONEY (columns Carrier_Pay and Customer_Charges). There are no nulls at all.

I believe 6.5 only had Std and Enterprise editions. If select @@version doesn't return it, I'd look through the registry keys (HKLM/Software/MS/SQL Server) for it or properties of the server in Enterprise Manager.

You'll want the Oracle client tools on the SQL server, and then make sure (depending on the version of Oracle) that you have the correct entries in the registry (see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B280106 . Then you'll have to set up the tnsnames entries for the connections. That's it.

Its most likely a permissions issue. The account that SQL is running under doesn't have rights to your mapped drive. If at all possible, backup your databases to a local drive and then move them to your network share.Steve
