Are the posted questions getting worse?

  • Some posters sure have a strange perspective regarding performance...

Congrats to Gail and the other MVPs awarded today.

Let me add my congrats as well Gail. It's a good list as far as I can tell from the people I've seen awarded. Seems like there were several new awardees in SQL Server this time. I think that means it's getting harder to get awarded.

  • I should bloody hope that a test with 1000 rows returns in under a second. It requires a really bad query to process 1000 rows in more than 1 sec.

Thanks. Mail came in early this year, didn't have time to start worrying.

Most important: congrats to be awarded! (Didn't expect anything else anyway 😉 )

    Regarding the above quote:

When using a loop, it's easy to add a WAITFOR DELAY. 😀

Not that it would help performance, but it would look like the code does something really complicated... 😉

  • What did I do?

I'm not renewed now. And perhaps I won't be if PASS gets to weigh in.

  • I'm just brown-nosing. 😉

Happy Canada Day for all Canadians north of the 49th and in the diaspora!

Is it not Canada Day for Canadians in Canada south of the 49th?

It felt like a regular work day for me.

    How y'all doin, eh?

Too many of the players seem to be to be over-paid, under-talented, whining, cheating prima donnas.

That's why I stopped watching the game decades ago.

I have seen plenty people do it from SQL to, without much effort to make a bad query.
