GSquared (6/16/2011)A spider minding its own business would be no big deal. A squirrel being chased by a terrier is already in a mood to bite if it feels cornered, which meant I couldn't just chase it back off of my leg, as it were. Those things carry all kinds of diseases that come under the heading of "more fun than I'm allowed to have".
Plus, squirrel claws are long enough to go through trousers and into skin a bit. It was moderately painful even without being bitten or having the thing continue up to my face.
So, I'd take the spider calmly exploring my arm event over the terrified disease-vector doing an adrenaline-climb up my leg event. But that may just be me.
Am I the only one here with "The Day The Squirrel Went Berserk" running through my head now?

Yeah, I had the same thought.
Could easily be an actual video game though. Same sort of "calculate the angle" as Angry Birds (and a zillion other versions through the ages), but firing exploding burritos off of a catapult. The image of a burrito that can lay waste to small towns somehow almost makes me break through the memory block I have on every time I've ever eaten at Taco Bell. I wonder why that is?

I believe it was a huntsman.
Can kill a full grown man in seconds. Has 2 inch fangs, jumps up to 50 meters and can swim underwater. Was responsible for the extinction of the Dinosaurs.

Do you have any experience with Azure, or can test out some things for me? I have a few questions about how Azure works with local temporary tables, and if you know and/or can test these out for me, I'd really appreciate it!That question you have is still on my list. I just haven't gotten to it yet.
And I really appreciate it! I just came up with a few others, so I just posted them all together.
Seems like a good idea to update my presentation with differences in Azure.

Jeff, I am surprised that your session did not make the cut. I was looking forward to meeting you again. Darn.. Dont the MVPs get a special discount or something that you can come? This sucks. I know that Paul, Grant, Steve and Gail got their session approved. But I am not sure about Wayne.I am glad that I did not submit any sessions. This year I volunteered for the program committee and I am doing abstract editing and all kinds of stuff. If your session is not accepted, there is no chance that mine will. I was planning to submit one next year, but now I am not sure.
"Considered". Like most others, I didn't make the cut. (Too many submissions for the # of sessions.)
Edit: trying to get work to send me. They seem open... but at today's pricing, plus 2 pre-cons, + 6 nights in hotel, it's like $3600. We'll see what happens. I definitely want to see the Gail & Grant show! Adam's looks pretty interesting also (thankfully, they are on different days).

Why are you surprised by the rejection reason? Speakers are allowed max 2 sessions, I'm doing a pre-con with Grant and a spotlight, so 'exceeded max allowable sessions' is about the only thing they could have said for the regular sessions. (well, that or 'not good enough')
Forgot you had one with Grant. I thought you just had the one from 24HOP
That makes sense. I like the limit of 2, otherwise it gets hard to rotate in new speakers.
But..... I didn't get rotated in... :angry:
