Just dropping by to let you know where I am.I made it to Bagram last night but looks like I get to hang out here another day (at least) before heading on to Kabul.
Just a piece of advice for those you have never travelled military air, you really have nothing to complain about. When you have to load and unload your own baggage from the plane you begin to appreciate what they do for you.
I'm betting you don't have to undergo a strip search while walking through an x-ray scanner either.
Of course, terrorists rarely fly on planes loaded with trained killers. 😛
In case I didn't say it before, good luck in the trenches and stay safe!
I think Lynn had to go through that before he ever got on the flight. I hear on some military flights they just push you out of the plane...

I hear on some military flights they just push you out of the plane...I assume while flying, otherwise that would just be plain silly 😛

I could probably take databases offline then back online them in 5 minutes and nobody would notice...

Hope everyone had a good Fourth. My day?
We leave late for the mountains (1), hit traffic (2), Tia's hungry, but everywhere in Idaho Springs is packed and busy (3). Hit a Subway off the highway, but no white bread (4) or cucumbers (5) for Kendall. At Winter Park we buy tickets for the slide, but it closes because of rain (6). We then buy Kendall a bungie ticket and it closes as we walk up for lightening (7). The rain stops, we head to Frasier for fireworks. They're cancelled (8).
We head home, stop by Starbucks at 6:02. It's closed (9).
We get to Park Meadows, to play mini golf, at 8:02. It closed at 8 (10). We drive over to the mall; it's closed (11). Delaney checks movie times for the theater. Last showing of Despicable Me 2 is 8:10. It's 8:12 (12).
Bad things come in 3s (per person, even in groups).

You *KNOW* it's going to be a slow day when you get in at your normal time, and get front-row parking...I could've driven a golf ball across the parking lot without worrying about hitting a car...
Going to be a lllooonnnggg day I think...
Today I was sitting in the lunch room with just 1 other colleague.
But I like working during the summer holiday: less traffic and less people nagging on my head 😀
Anyway, been absent of the thread for quite some time due to some deadlines. Did I miss anything?
I think a few dozen pages ago, Gail announced she was going to switch to using NoSQL and MySQL and Steve announced he was going to switch the back-end of the site over to Oracle...
But other than that, no, nothing really...

You missed the really important one: Jeff suggested a new fast way of solving some accumulation problems using nested non-static cursors over triangular joins. :hehe:
