Are the posted questions getting worse?

    Another real Gem...

I went to respond to your interpretation of the SSMS shorthand and decided that it would look too much like picking on the guy who did it. BUT, here's my re-translation:

pls tell how to c the o/p of the profiler =

Please tell how to carry the original poster off the profiler

    Just a guess you understand.

Heh. But this isn't that thread, it's a different one...

  • A colleague of mine spotted SQLGURU-WP in my area as well took a picture and published it on the front page of our internal company newsletter (see attachment). Strangely the person seems to have downgraded from Audi to Opel (Astra I guess). Seems business isn't going that well... Or someone is driving around with a fake license plate. Gail, did you get to mention this to your colleague at TechEd? Just a guess, but his first name doesn't start with a C and is pretty Afrikaans, does it?

  • [font="Verdana"]honk forth love if. Had to be said.

I think when someone posts a technical question in txt speak, then yes, the posted questions are certainly getting worse. Eeek!

This is going to become a new badge of honor for people going for jobs or qualifying for MVP:

"And this article I wrote was plagiarized five times in the last year. This blog post got copied twice..."

BWAA-HAAA!!!! I hadn't thought about it that way. I can just see during an interview when they ask how I spend my day... "I check for emails from my servers because they really know what's going on, I see if my boss is paniced about anything, I write some code for some projects, and I spend at least an hour a day chasing people who infringed on my copyrighted articles. Do I get the job?" 😛

RBAR is pronounced "ree-bar" and is a "Modenism" for Row-By-Agonizing-Row.
First step towards the paradigm shift of writing Set Based code:
________Stop thinking about what you want to do to a ROW... think, instead, of what you want to do to a COLUMN.

Is that legal? I thought licence plates were tied to the cars, not to drivers....

I forgot to ask him. No, my colleague is very english (originally from the UK).

  • Check Bob out, I think he's un-posting now. Are you punishing the OPs by adding solutions and then deleting them, just for spite? 😛

Is that legal? I thought licence plates were tied to the cars, not to drivers....

Not in the case of personalised plates, after all you could have payed a small fortune for it. From the Western Cape Government web site:

To keep or transfer a specialised licence number, you can send an application form to the licence number section.

Ok, but it can't be switched back and forward, audi this week, opel the next.

Not surprised. He speaks at just about every MS event in the country.

It's very cool (and great marketing for us), the only two SQL MVPs in SA work for the same company. The MD loves mentioning that to prospective clients.
