Are the posted questions getting worse?

On another note, You guys should take a vacation to this tiny island during new year. You will the whole island lit up at 12 mid night with fireworks and then you will not see the island from the sky... Only smoke...It is worth the money you spend on your air tickets... 🙂

I'll be close. Heading to St Martin in a couple weeks. I'll raise a glass of rum to the South as a toast.

Cool... When are you planning to visit our island and give a presentation? 🙂

  • I have had a fail-over happen at my job because of a developer trying to run a Select * on a transaction table (server ran out of memory), where as he only needed data from two of the 150 columns present on the table. I wasn't aware of the select * practice they used here as I was only two days into my job then.

I actually got to convince them to not do it that way, but it did take us some time to revisit all the code in our source control

    Thanks..

Work-related discussions are ok, but no code posting!

  • This is a belated honeymoon with my lovely wife, so I don't think I'll be doing any work.

I'd love to come over sometime, just not sure I can get the boss to spring for it.

  • Enjoy your Honey Moon. St Martin is nice. You get two cultures there. One side is totally french and the other totally Dutch. They have couple of nice beaches as well...

The 'barge pole' is a British figure of speech.

Out 'hen's teeth' friend is on my personal blacklist. He's been there for some time already and, based on current behaviour, I estimate he'll be there for some time too.

    But it is fun

It does appear that learning the material is not a priority.

Quite familiar with the expression. I know exactly what it means. 😛 That's why the joke about have a 12 ft pole if you wanted it. 😉

But you also know me, any helpless case and I'll still try to help if I can (even if it means frequent runs to the desert for solace).
