Forum Etiquette: How to post data/code on a forum to get the best help

    Hi, I think now and then I'm guilty of these things.  What does "bump a post" mean?  I understand cross posting.

    "Bumping a post" is posting solely to increase its visibility by bringing it to the top of the list.

    And, depending on how and when it's done, it can be done "appropriately" but that's not usually the case.  People frequently think that someone is just waiting to answer their question or that the responders get paid to do so.  Nothing could be further from the truth especially since most of the responders are full time employees working their normal jobs.  As with all else, "It Depends". 😉
