I would check two things.
1. Verify the connection string. Make sure the database your using in VS2010 is the sames one your application...

I dont' see an index on the ticket_id column of payment_to_fine table. Unless I missed it.

You can use SSIS, there is a data destination type of SQL Compact.

It depends on the recovery model of your database. My guess you are in Full Recovery, so it writes a lot to the log file.

Do you have a transaction log backup job? That will help to clear the Log file.
As far as the db size increasing, that is a pretty big size jump....

When you open SSMS, in object explorer there is a connect option, click that and its a drop down with an option to connect to a CE database.

I would use SSIS to export the data from my SQL Server DB into my Mobile Database.

You can do it in a SQL cursor. But a warning to you, cursors have bad performance but are useful in specific instances when you have no other option.

Have you tried binding your dataset to you combobox

The speed depends on the amount of data you are trying to return, and also the network speed to the WAN location including latency.

Unless I am missing something, why not create a trigger on both the Station and Analog tables. Using a trigger in this manner will have a performance hit.
