Now that it is officially posted on facebook, I can start telling everyone.Kassondra gave birth to a healthy baby boy yesterday in Germany. Grayson Matthew was born at 11:10 (German time), which is 3:10am mst.
Grandma made it safely to Germany and is now enjoying her time with our grandson. You know, saying that makes me feel giddy and old at the same time. A unique feeling.

What's to like in warm beer? 🙂
Depends on the beer.
There are actually some beers that taste good, so you can drink them without cooling them to a point where the cold eliminates the taste. I know that such beer is extremely rare in many countries, so maybe you haven't met any yet?
Beer which tastes good when warm of course is much more refreshing and useful for drinking when the weather is extremely hot (to start with you don't have to gulp it down quick before it warms up).

The reason for a temperature beyond a "frozen mug" is simple: taste. I don't want to go deeper into details (not starting a "taste war" here) but based on my experience there's a good reason for most U.S. beer to be served in frozen mugs 😀

The frozen mug hides the fact that the "beer" has no taste. I have a hard time calling a U.S. pilsner beer. Of course I like my beer darker than my coffee and I drink my coffee straight from the pot. 😀

Nonsense; What it hides is that the beer has an appalling taste - no taste would be far better, but typical "must serve frozen" beers don't achieve no taste.

US Pilsner, like US Budweiser, is a US steal of an European name; the original owners of the names would be ashamed to be associated with what the USAnians have tied to the names the Americans have stolen. (Stolen - I mean it: why is it that people in the USA think that it's fine for American outfits to steal European IP, but vice versa would be anathema?).

Proper beer, not the fashionable super chilled lager beer, is best drunk at cellar temperature or around 12-16 degrees.
Interesting fact: Historically, it used to be in the UK that people drank more beer than water as it was sterile and the water was contaminated. 😀 Those were the days!
