Are the posted questions getting worse?

  • I remember what my teacher told me when she first taught us about index. "Index works the same as index section in a book. It helps to go to a certain article that you are interested in"

    What's an index?

    We have a working title!

    Chapter headings anyone?

And evidently a volunteer for the head author position. Well done.

I just about know enough to know that ... :w00t:

... sound of running becoming quieter and quieter as I escape over the horizon ...

Discussing this, just in jest will get the thread to 5000 posts pretty quickly.

Let's start discussing the party plans and we'll get there even faster.

99 bottles of beer on the wall, 99 bottles of beer.

Take one down and pass it around, 98 bottles of beer on the wall.

Far away is close at hand in the images of elsewhere.

Too late now Tom. We have a record of your taking the position.

Whenever I'm doing a presentation or session on indexing, I make sure I have a thick technical book with me so that I can use the index at the back as an example of a NC index, and the page numbers as an example of the clustered index.

Seeing it and having the theory related to something that can be seen makes it so much easier for people to understand.

Hmmm...a challenge? Who will be the 5000th post?

Will there be a prize? 😀

The lucky 5000th will be granted authorship of the index book 😀

  • Gail, that was what my teacher used to do. Are you sure you have never been to India and taughtDB2?? 😀 Coz that teacher was the most smartest of all the faculty that we had. I was studying MainFrame ES9000 at that time. My first intro to Database... I fell in love with it

  • Simon was once trying to sell SQL Compare to a company and they questioned the value. He pulled out two phone books from different years and 100lb note. Said if they could find a difference in 10 sec, they could have the money.

Your data requests are obscured by Mars ruling your emotions, so you won't get a true glimpse of what the data actually is. However, symbolic interpretations of a particular divination can still be helpful as long as you understand that this is about as useful as f@rt in a hurricane...

I used to think that Litespeed was the best third party utility out there for SQL Server, but the more I use SQL Compare, the more I realize how valuable it is. While I use it a few times as a DBA, especially when it comes time for promotions, I'm trying to get the DEV and QA folks to use it early on before it even gets to me, save a few headaches.
